What are Hand Tremors?
A tremor is an involuntary movement or shaking of any body part (even your head or voice
may be involved). It is often most noticeable in your hands. Three types of
tremors include:
-Static tremors when the hand is at
rest
-Kinetic tremors when the hand
shakes only when in motion
-Postural tremors when the hand is
held in a certain position for a long period of time
Causes of Hand Tremors
This
project mainly focuses on assisting patients and individuals that suffer from
kinetic hand tremors.
The design of this project aims to minimize the shaking
due to hand tremors and assist individuals in engaging in daily activities.
These tremors can occur due to various reasons. They are common many diseased
patients:
-Parkinson's Disease: resting tremors,
due to muscle rigidity and sluggish hand motion
-Multiple Sclerosis: kinetic tremor
-Over active Thyroid: postural
tremor
Also,
those people lacking a specific disease diagnosis are prone to hand tremors due
to:
-Excess of coffee or alcohol
consumption
-High stress or lethargy
-Low Blood Sugar
-Drug side effects [3]
